easy adjustment of individual blades, checks their position, and documents
the measurement results. The measurement process on the CNC-controlled testing
device is semi-automated: all actions required to perform the process are shown
on the display for operator guidance. The positioning of the individual knives
in the knife head, as well as setting the height of the knife tips, is largely
automatic thanks to a special procedure, and is simultaneously documented

via a run-out diagram. A subsequent measuring process checks the radial position
of both the internal and external cutting edges of all knives in the knife head.
If individual inspection parameters on the knives do not meet the tolerance
requirements, these can be adjusted individually. Thanks to the combination of
a semi-automated adjustment process, operator-guided setup actions, and automatic
measuring processes, knife heads can be set quickly, conveniently, and with high
precision.
