Especially in dry milling, a high gear quality and long tool life can only be achieved with precisely adjusted cutter heads. The CS 200 cutter head setting and inspection device enables quick and easy adjustment of the individual cutters, checks their positions, and documents the measurement results. The measuring cycle on the CNC-controlled inspection device is semi-automated: process steps are displayed to the operator on the screen for guided handling. The positioning of the individual cutters in the cutter head, as well as the height location of the cutter tips, is handled largely automatically via a special procedure and is simultaneously documented through a concentricity diagram. A subsequent measuring cycle checks the radial positions of all inner and outer cutting edges in the cutter head. If individual inspection parameters do not meet the specified tolerances, they can be individually re-adjusted. Thanks to the combination of a semi-automated setting process, operator-guided setup actions, and automatic measuring cycle, cutter heads can be conveniently, quickly, and with high precision.
