The welding fume extractor OS 3008 is ideal for extracting fumes and vapors generated during welding, polishing, cutting, or grinding of rare precious metals. It can clean large quantities of airborne metal particles that are harmful to health. This unit is characterized by high filtration efficiency, low noise emissions, and a relatively compact footprint. It is suitable for extraction during arc welding, CO₂ welding, MIG/MAG processes, slit arc welding, and welding in a gas-shielded environment.

These extractors are equipped with high-efficiency filter cartridges that differ from conventional filters by featuring a PTFE membrane layer (polytetrafluoroethylene).

In conventional filters, the fiber length of filter materials such as cotton, satin, paper, and other cellulose fibers ranges from 5 to 60 µm. Soot particles contained in the extracted fumes can remain in the filter and clog the filter element. If clogging becomes excessive, ash can no longer be effectively removed, airflow resistance increases, and the gas flow decreases. As filter contamination increases, filter efficiency drops significantly.

Our filter incorporates a PTFE membrane layer with a fine structure that blocks microscopically small dust particles. These particles form a dust cake on the surface of the filter material. Most dust particles adhere to the outer surface and do not penetrate into the filter. Over time, particles can be removed from the filter by pulses of cleaned compressed air.
