The use of a photocell in the workpiece area allows for the measurement of its length, thereby enabling the spray guns to be activated as soon as the part enters their range and to be deactivated immediately after painting is completed. The photocell is included as standard equipment.

Identification of parts with special tags. Identification plates with holes are attached to the workpiece hanger. Based on this, the PLC controller, together with the photocell, detects the painted part and switches the guns on and off at the appropriate moment, saving both energy and powder coating material.

Vertical shape detection of the part: The use of light gates with horizontal sensors allows the PLC controller to analyze the vertical contour of the part. The PLC controller measures the timing in which the part is expected to enter the gun space; as a result, it becomes possible to selectively turn the spray guns on or off.

The use of light gates with multiple sensors in both horizontal and vertical arrangements enables precise measurement of the part’s dimensions, making it possible to control manipulators as well.

The benefits of using photocells or light gates are primarily in saving powder and energy by eliminating spraying in areas where no part is present. With light gates, precise control of the spray guns is possible.
