Tray Sealing Machine
Model: ILPRA FOODPACK 400 N
(sold together with 5,000 trays and the corresponding sealing film)
Machine for die-cutting and heat-sealing using metallized film from a roll. Compatible with pre-formed trays made of plastic, aluminized material, and/or laminated cardboard.
Tray dimensions: max size = 280 x 32 h mm (single row)
Mechanical operating speed: approx. 400 cycles/hour, depending on the type of material used and the characteristics of the product being packaged. Operation with vacuum and inert gas injection at a speed depending on the degree of vacuum (4 cycles/minute).
OPERATION AND DESCRIPTION:
The FOODPACK 400N is a practical, robustly built machine. The film feed and take-up system operate mechanically, while the sealing plate is pneumatically actuated. The machine is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC).
The construction of the FOODPACK 400N takes into account high humidity operating environments. All parts that come into contact with the product, such as the worktable and machine casing, are made of stainless steel (S/S).

Changing the machine to accommodate a different tray format takes approximately 5 minutes.
MACHINE SECTIONS:
Tray Loading Section:
The loader consists of tray guides (these guides ensure filled trays are positioned correctly). After inserting the tray into the form, the operator pushes it into the sealing area by actuating a lever. A presence sensor allows the next operation only if the tray is correctly positioned. After sealing, the operator must return the form to the loading position, remove the sealed tray, and load the next tray for the subsequent sealing operation.
Film Unwinding and Rewinding Group:
This unit automatically positions the required length of sealing film, supplying it from the roll under the sealing and cutting unit, and rewinds the waste material. This group can also be fitted with a date/batch coding printer. An optional centering device enables precise positioning of the printed image in the center of the metallized film sealing the tray.
Sealing and Cutting Section:
In this section, the film is cut and sealed onto the tray (the cut matches the exact shape of the tray). Once the form is positioned in the sealing area, the operator presses the START button to execute the seal-cut operation. Both upper and lower molds are customized according to the customer’s tray specifications and require a high level of customization. The sealing plate’s operation is electronically timed and the temperature of each operation can be individually regulated. The sector is equipped with a quick-change mold system; releasing or securing the upper mold requires only turning the selector key on the control panel.
Control Panel:
Equipped with a temperature controller for sealing adjustment, a timer for setting the sealing time, a display keypad for machine function control, and the START, EMERGENCY STOP, main switch, and quick mold change selector buttons.
