The press consists of:
Electrical system – controls the hydraulic system of the press. It is equipped with four electric motors: the first, 30 kW, is intended for driving the main hydraulic pumps; the second, 1.1 kW, for driving the cooling pump; the third, 0.55 kW, for driving the oil cooling system fan; and the fourth, 1.5 kW, for driving the sawdust feed screw. Motor and hydraulic valve operations are controlled via contactors and intermediate solid-state relays, managed by a microprocessor with expansion modules. For system visualization and parameter adjustments, a liquid crystal display with control buttons is installed.
Hydraulic system – operates the hydraulic cylinders via pumps, high and low pressure, as well as solenoid hydraulic valves and hoses. There are three hydraulic cylinders: the main cylinder for compressing sawdust, the vertical cylinder for pre-compacting the sawdust, and the forming cylinder for briquette shape transfer. The system also includes an oil cooling circuit with a pump and air cooler. Oil is filtered by the main high-performance filter, a cooling system filter, and a fine cleaning filter.
Raw material feeding is performed with an integrated feed hopper. Material entering the hopper is intermittently mixed to prevent bridging. The mixer is driven by a chain from the screw’s gearmotor. The screw cyclically feeds material into the vertical cylinder shaft. The hopper features two raw material level sensors: lower and upper. With a larger hopper, sensors can be repositioned as needed.
Control – dual mode: manual and automatic. All control equipment is installed in the electrical control cabinet. Automatic control is the standard pressing mode, requiring no operator intervention. Manual mode is intended for commissioning, troubleshooting, or resetting cylinder positions in case of a malfunction. Operation is facilitated by a display on the cabinet door, allowing parameter monitoring and adjustment as well as fault diagnosis.
