The professional, automatic Stork Townsend BBC1500W backbone cutter is a highly specialized disassembly machine designed for slaughter and meat processing lines with high throughput. This device is key for processing pork carcasses (especially bellies and middle cuts), as well as in large poultry processing (turkeys, geese), where precise removal or scoring of the backbone and dorsal bones determines both the classification and final commercial value of meat cuts.

The machine operates by automatically centering the workpiece in the processing zone. The product is transported along dedicated guides that stabilize the carcass just before contact with the cutting disc, which features an optimally selected tooth profile. With its 1.5 kW drive, the machine ensures clean, perfectly straight cuts without bone splintering or tearing of the adjacent muscles (such as loin or tenderloin). The use of a mechanical cutter eliminates strenuous, hazardous, and inconsistent manual labor previously performed using cleaver saws or manual splitting tools.
