Our Reitruder twin-screw technology can process high proportions of additives and fillers. Instead of using pre-compounded materials, fillers such as calcium carbonate or talc are continuously mixed in. At the same time, direct extrusion significantly reduces energy costs compared to the two-stage compounding process: without repeated melting and solidification, the Reitruder operates in a single production run from raw material to finished product.

Reitruder RZE 85
EXTRUSION Alongside other innovations, the co-rotating twin-screw extruder Reitruder RZE 85 was the focal point of Reifenhäuser’s NPE trade show presentation. A refined concept with new design elements was developed. The screw geometry was adapted to new requirements with deeper channels and a redesigned intake zone. These modifications improve intake performance when using PET flakes or regrind and increase the volume available for dosing fillers. This offers significant advantages when processing lower-quality raw materials. In addition, increased degassing efficiency allows the processing of material with up to 0.5% moisture content, minimizing the need for pre-drying.
