PROTON Cardan type

Cardan conveyors are carriage-type models that consist of four bearing groups moving within an enclosed rail. These types of conveyors are indispensable due to their vibration-free operation, automatic lubrication function, and robust design.

The drive unit of the cardan shaft is mounted on top and is either of the caterpillar type or equipped with a side-mounted gearbox featuring a safety switch.

The distances between the chain suspension points are 400 mm or multiples thereof, and there are several of them installed.

Thanks to the centralized lubrication unit in the system, the chain bearings are automatically lubricated at the desired intervals.

A torque limiter safeguards the conveyor system by protecting against overloads if the drive units become compressed and receive excessive force.

The bearings mounted on the chain are capable of operating at 250°C.

The conveyor chain tensioning system can be designed either with a spring or as a bolted system.

The cardan conveyor rail is specially reinforced and precision-bent from sheet metal.

On long conveyor systems, more than one drive unit is used, and in such configurations, synchronized operation between the drive units is ensured.

Depending on requirements, three types are available: Light-duty, Medium-duty, and Heavy-duty variants.
