Nahaja se na industrijskem območju Karhula v bližini mesta Kotka na jugovzhodu Finske. Valilnica Karhulan Valimo je bila ustanovljena v 80-ih letih 19. stoletja. Leta 1902 se je valilnica združila z obratom za brušenje lesa, steklarno, opekarno in strojno delavnico ter skupaj tvorili podjetje Karhula Oy. Valilnica je bila skozi zgodovino poznana po proizvodnji tehnično zahtevnih ulitkov, še posebej iz visoko legiranih jekel. Leta 2022 je podjetje Karhu Assets Oy prevzelo objekte in stroje valilnice. Večina opreme v čistilnici ulitkov je že prodana, večina strojev v oddelku za pripravo modelov in talilnici pa je še vedno na voljo.
