Roller glue application units for edge banding machines require regular maintenance, care, and cleaning. Trapped chips, burnt glue residues, and other foreign objects negatively affect the uniform and thin application of glue. This applies when using EVA hot-melt adhesives and especially when using PUR adhesives. When the glue pot is inside the machine, poor accessibility limits the effectiveness of cleaning. If the unit is removed—which is quick and simple with most manufacturers—the rapid cooling prevents thorough cleaning. Additionally, there is usually no stable holder for the still-hot glue pot, nor a drive for the glue roller.

With this easy-to-use device, routine cleaning and maintenance tasks can easily be carried out by operating or maintenance personnel themselves.
