Description:

The concept of the machine is extremely simple. The workpiece is placed into the machine. A quickly adjustable stop with pneumatic locking centers the workpiece inside the machine. After activating a foot switch, the workpiece is pneumatically clamped and automatically fed to the drilling unit (30 m/min).

The vertical spindles drill from below so that the generated chips do not remain on the workpiece as they would in a machining center. The horizontal spindles operate on two sides of the workpiece.

The workpiece length can be unlimited, as it is fed towards the drilling unit (X-axis). The drilling spindles are freely programmable, either individually or as a block, and move along the Y-axis. The drilling depth as well as the horizontal drilling units are controlled via the Z-axis.

Once all drilling operations are completed, the workpiece is returned to the loading side, or optionally, conveyed to the unloading side.

Whereas conventional machining centers require the workpiece to be clamped using vacuum, and the vacuum clamps must be adjusted to the size of the workpiece, this step is completely eliminated with the 3-axis controlled point-to-point drilling machine.
