Plunge Grinding

In the plunge grinding process, workpieces with stepped or profiled external surfaces—such as nozzle needles, valves, cross-pins, gearbox and electric motor shafts—are machined. Possible technologies include straight or angled plunge grinding, plunge grinding in single or multiple production, plunge grinding in several operations either simultaneously or sequentially, or oscillating plunge grinding.

Through-feed grinding is used for machining non-profiled workpieces, such as cylindrical and tapered rollers, rings, rods, and hydraulic sliders. This grinding method is highly productive and primarily utilized for series and mass production of precision parts.
