Machine Features

The CORMAK HBS260 horizontal metal bandsaw with a swiveling arm allows cutting perpendicular to the axis of the material as well as at any angle between 0° and 60°. Material feeding can be done manually or with any mechanical device, while the blade feed is automatic. The blade guides are fitted with special carbide pads and bearings, significantly improving blade guidance, lifespan, straightness, precision, and quality of cut. Carbide guidance greatly reduces machine and blade wear. The machine is equipped with an efficient coolant pump with a closed-circuit system.

The saw head is made from a single cast iron piece, and the 27 mm wide saw blade enables high-volume cutting of both profiles and solid materials. The vice is placed in an adjustable bed and comes with a quick-release clamp. The blade guides feature carbide pads and roller bearing systems – it is these CARBIDE GUIDES that are responsible for cutting precision and straightness.

The upper part of the base is designed as a tray for draining coolant and capturing chips generated during cutting. The cast iron worktable with the swiveling arm and control panel on a separate arm is mounted to the base. During operation, the primary cutting motion is the movement of the blade, while the feed is achieved by the arm descending. The descent speed (cutting speed) is controlled via a hydraulic cylinder.

Feed rate is adjustable from the operator’s panel. There are two selectable blade speeds: 35 and 70 m/min. When the arm reaches the bottom position (after the cut is complete), the blade drive is switched off automatically. Safety features include blade guards and micro-switches that stop the motor after the cutting cycle or when any guard is opened. Additional safety is ensured by automatic shut-off in the event of blade breakage.
