McConnel Barrier mower

The McConnel guardrail mower is a hydraulically driven mowing machine with an independent PTO drive. The unit can be easily mounted to the tractor using a front or rear 3-point linkage or a DIN plate, and, by simply reversing the mowing discs, it can operate on both the right and left side.

Built on a robust tubular frame with a total weight of 1,500 kg, it is equipped with two side-arms that can be opened to pass over guardrails, steel cables, and hedges with a maximum height of 170 cm, allowing simultaneous mowing from both sides as well as underneath the obstacle, with a cutting width of approximately 150 cm.

The great versatility and working speed of the machine are partly due to the ability to open the outer arm by 180°, which allows for fast and easy positioning. Most importantly, this enables the machine to continue mowing with the inner disc while the outer disc can be lifted to pass over road or advertising signs present along the route, with the blade rotation automatically interrupted.
