This hopper can be customized to individual requirements and guarantees continuous and cost-effective material feeding without manual assistance. The hydraulically controlled pusher feeds the wood waste to be shredded into the rotor’s cutting area, with automatic, load-dependent regulation. The internal pusher guides are made from highly wear-resistant plastic (polyamide) and are adjustable. The hydraulic cylinders are mounted with gimbal suspension to prevent lateral forces on the piston seals. The patented and profiled V-rotor, made of solid steel, has a diameter of 252 mm and operates at a rotor speed of 80–120 rpm. The concave-ground, aggressive, and four-way reversible knives/cutting crowns are seated in milled knife pockets on special knife holders. This patented system guarantees, for the first time, a reduced cutting gap between counter-knife and rotor, resulting in high throughput, low energy consumption, and optimal discharge of the shredded material.
