The 216 HDS offered space for up to 16 seat rows. In direct comparison, the version with underfloor cockpit provided even more room. With the Setra SG 221 HDS, Kässbohrer had a vision, but the ban on operating articulated coaches for tourist trips through France led the Ulm team to shift focus to non-articulated vehicles. From then on, the SG 221 HDS was used as a demonstration and information vehicle at trade fairs and conferences.
