Köb & Schäfer Pyrtec 950 116TH

The Pyrtec boiler system is an underfeed stoker with internal grate and burnout grate, designed for universal applications and suitable for an exceptionally wide range of fuels—from dry wood waste to wet forest wood chips (maximum water content w = 50%, corresponding to wood moisture u = 100%).

The complete boiler system is type-approved (approval no.: 02-221-512) with continuous quality control by TÜV and consists of:

FEED SCREW WITH BARRIER LAYER:
The feed screw conveys the fuel into the fire bowl and the grate area of the fire block. The heavy-duty screw flights are made from heat-resistant chromium steel in the fire bowl area.
The conveyor tube features attachments for the backfire thermostat and the thermal extinguishing valve. Above the screw is the metering container with photoelectric sensor to determine the fuel barrier layer level as required by TRD 414.
Drive is provided by a maintenance-free helical gear motor and chain drive in a dust-tight chain guard.
Accessories: Extinguishing valve with dirt trap.

FIRING BLOCK:
Massive firing block with multiple layers of insulation and high-quality refractory lining. The feed and grate area comprises the fire bowl, gasification grate, and falling burnout grate. All these parts are made from highly heat-resistant cast steel (W.-No. 1.4868), at least 12 mm thick and individually replaceable.
This type of primary combustion has proven extremely effective, even with challenging fuels (moist sawmill residue, high bark content, etc.). Ash and foreign objects falling through the grates can be easily removed from outside via covered openings. The horizontal combustion chamber is optimally shaped for complete burnout and also offers a large ash space. The firebox door is solidly built, very well insulated, and can be swung away easily for maintenance via a sturdy double hinge.

BOILER:
Horizontal hot water boiler in three-pass design, mounted on the firing block, insulated and attractively clad. The insulated boiler front door can accommodate an oil or gas burner if required.
Operating temperature: max. 120°C
Operating pressure: 3.0 bar

PYRTEC-140 TO PYRTEC-650 FLUE GAS DUST SEPARATOR:
Axial cyclone design, fully insulated and mounted on the boiler. Includes two insulated cleaning covers, ash container with quick-release fastener, and mounting flange for exhaust fan.

PYRTEC-1000 FLUE GAS DUST SEPARATOR:
Axial cyclone design, fully insulated, free-standing for optimal placement, including two insulated cleaning covers, mounting flange for exhaust fan, and connection for the ash container.

EXHAUST FAN:
Fan specifically designed for wood combustion operations, very quiet, motor in a heavy-duty, heat-resistant version with spring-mounted thermal dissipation hub. Fan housing features infinitely rotatable intake nozzle, round outlet.
