Press-in device for ceramic pins in rotor shafts

Operating principle:

The ceramic pins are fed via a vibratory bowl feeder through a pneumatic hose to an inspection station, where the position of any possible single-sided hole is checked. This is done using an optical sensor.
Incorrectly positioned parts are separated out into a collection bin by a pneumatic slide.
Correctly oriented pins are conveyed via another pneumatic hose to the singulator of the pressing tool.

The actual press-in process is also pneumatic, using a stamp guided by a roller bearing punch.
First, a manually adjustable pressure p1 is used to ensure the pin is not pressed too easily into the shaft.
A second, also manually adjustable pressure p2 then presses the pin into the rotor shaft up to the limit stop.
A disc spring package with a preload of 5,000 N prevents excessive force from being applied to the pin and shaft.

The rotor shaft must be manually loaded, removed, and clamped into the tool by the operator. This process is safeguarded by a light curtain.
