Plunge Cut Grinding

In the plunge cut grinding process, workpieces with stepped or profiled outer surfaces, such as nozzle needles, valves, cross pins, gear and electric motor shafts, are machined. Available technologies include straight or angular plunge cut grinding, single or multiple part plunge cut grinding, multi-operation plunge cut grinding (simultaneous or sequential), or oscillating plunge cut grinding.

Through-feed grinding is used for machining unprofiled workpieces, such as cylinder and tapered rollers, rings, bars, and hydraulic slides. This grinding method is highly productive and is primarily used for serial and mass production of precision parts.
