Nitrogen inertization with residual oxygen monitoring:
With nitrogen inertization, the test chamber is initially purged with a large amount of N₂ until
the oxygen content drops below 3%. Then it switches to a base flow (approx. 10% of the full purging amount).
The baseline nitrogen flow is measured with a flow meter, displayed, and monitored via a limit switch.
O₂ monitoring continuously extracts gas from the test chamber via a flame arrestor and channels it
over an O₂ sensor to monitor the residual oxygen content in the extracted air. After measurement, the gas passes through a second flame arrestor back into the test chamber. The exhaust pump is monitored by a flow meter. Further details can be found in the user manual by Dräger in the appendix.
Note: The gas system is currently out of service!
