In the system, the cardboard is first trimmed at the front to remove any damage from transportation. After trimming, each side receives an edge trim of a minimum of 30 mm. If necessary, a corner is cut off the cardboard; this varies depending on the Fefco type. Finally, the cardboard is scored at the folding lines and conveyed out of the machine.

Waste generated during this process is transported out of the machine via a waste belt located underneath. At the machine’s outfeed, a conveyor belt disposes of the waste into a container. If the edge trim is too long, it must be cut inside the system so it can be easily conveyed out of the unit.

The cut blanks and products are conveyed to the folding table, where the cartons are erected and filled. In the box closing unit, the cartons are closed, labeled, and discharged from the system.
