Finishing of sealing surfaces:
The finishing of the sealing surfaces on the approximately 17m long tubes is performed by an NC-controlled feed unit and an NC-controlled facing slide equipped with 2 ABS tool holders, allowing the use of turning tools, measuring probes, or sensors. The workpiece is initially gauged using measuring sensors mounted in the facing slide heads and is aligned via the adjustable roller supports. Once positioned at a right angle and centered with respect to the facing slide head, the tube is clamped hydraulically by the floating chuck jaw. The interchangeable measuring sensors determine the optimal machining parameters for processing the surface.
