WHO PROVIDES FUNDING?
The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) supports investment measures for the energy optimization of systems and processes.

WHAT IS FUNDED?
Investments that demonstrably lead to energy savings—and thus to a reduction in CO₂ emissions—are eligible for grants. For example, if you want to replace step-switched welding machines with high energy consumption with efficient REHM welding technology, you can apply for Module 4 funding. Costs for creating the energy-saving concept and for implementation support provided by an external energy consultant are also eligible. The total payback period of the entire measure must last more than 2 years.

WHAT IS THE LEVEL OF FUNDING?
Up to:
- 40% of the costs
- €900 per tonne of CO₂
- €10 million per project
BAFA subsidizes large companies with up to 30% of eligible costs (max. €500 per ton of CO₂ saved) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with up to 40% (max. €900 per ton of CO₂ saved). The maximum funding per investment project is €10 million.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING?
Private and municipal companies with a registered office or branch in Germany are eligible to apply. The planned measures must be executed within the territory of the Federal Republic. The mandatory energy-saving concept must be prepared by a BAFA-approved energy consultant.

HOW TO APPLY FOR FUNDING?
01. List: Create a list of all devices to be replaced and all new devices to be purchased.
02. Review: We will collect the necessary data at your premises and provide a preliminary assessment of your funding eligibility. At the same time, we will prepare a quotation for the new welding machines.
03. Energy Consultant: We process all data for you and forward it to a cooperating energy consultant. This saves you time and costs.
04. Application: After reviewing the data, the energy consultant will submit the funding application on your behalf.
05. Processing Time: If urgent, we can expedite your application, reducing the processing time to approximately 10 to 15 days.
