Vacuum Turning Gantry for Panels

The turning unit offers two different "automatic" operating modes:

I. Transfer without rotation
The panel is shifted sideways, aligned to the reference edge (zero line) of the machining center, and indexed further to the machining center (BAZ).

II. Transfer with rotation
The panel is shifted sideways and rotated along its longitudinal axis before being indexed to the machining center (BAZ).

Each function can also be operated manually in "hand" mode.

Minimum panel size:
L x W x H: 1500mm x 1500mm x 12mm

The turning gantry is equipped with a total of 24 vacuum suction cups, ensuring gentle handling of the elements.
The elements are always picked up using vacuum and then either transferred horizontally to the zero line of the machining center or additionally rotated by 180° while in transit before being placed at the reference edge.
Rotation is monitored via absolute encoders; cross-travel positioning is controlled by adjustable photoelectric sensors.
Vacuum is generated by a blower.

The roller table, measuring 8500 mm x 4300 mm (width), with roller diameter Ø 108 mm, is fitted with material-friendly rubber rings; it is powered by a SEW geared motor.
The roller table is controlled via a frequency inverter, speed v=45 m/min, freely adjustable.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The entire area is fenced off, with two sliding doors securing the longitudinal side of the system. The doors are monitored for safety.

The operator panel with a 12" touchscreen is installed in the fenced area.
The installed PLC S7-1500 is programmed with three operational levels:
• Automatic mode
• Manual mode
• Maintenance mode

Input signals, feed side:
- Start roller table
- Turn yes/no
- Emergency stop (entire system)

Input signals, discharge side:
- Start roller table
- Emergency stop (entire system)

Output signals, system:
- Emergency stop (entire system)
- Part received
