Description / Functionality:
A DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimeter) is used for the thermal analysis of materials. It measures the heat flow that occurs in a sample during physical or chemical processes when the sample is heated or cooled in a controlled manner. The instrument enables the investigation of the following material properties:
- Melting and solidification temperatures
- Glass transition temperatures (Tg)
- Crystallization
- Phase transitions
- Reaction enthalpies
- Heat capacity
- Determination of substance purity
