MHS (VanRiet) Sorter – dismantled and ready for transport

E-commerce parcel sorter manufactured by VanRiet (Van Riet Material Handling Systems BV). Dismantled and ready for transport.

The sorter consists of:
a) Three roller conveyor lines with 72 dispatch stations;
b) One roller conveyor line;
c) Parallel to each dispatch line (3 lines) and to the returns line (1 line) runs a belt conveyor for waste carton removal (leads outside the building to a compactor – not included in the sale);
d) One chute line with 46 locations, equipped with a scanner for determining the dimensions and weight of individual parcels.

This sorter's throughput is specified at 6,000 parcels per hour. The valuation includes additional photographic documentation showing the technical condition of the valued items as well as detailed components of the sorter.

The sorting process involves preparing shipments and assigning each parcel to a specific courier. Goods must be packed in either a box or polybag. The operator then scans the parcel and generates a label for the box or polybag. Information about the box/container is sent from the sorter to the MHS (VanRiet) controller. Meanwhile, the box/container is placed onto the loading line by the operator. Products are conveyed down the line and then merged onto a single transport line. At the end, a camera scanner identifies the product and measures its dimensions, after which the product is sorted to the designated exit (collection point for parcels ready for dispatch).

The MHS (VanRiet) sorter is suitable for handling products of various sizes. It processes cartons with lengths from 150-800 mm, widths 100-600 mm, heights 10-400 mm, and weights from 0.25 kg to 32 kg. Polybags from 200-550 mm in length, 150-550 mm in width, 13-400 mm in height, and weights from 0.25 kg to 10 kg.

The MHS (VanRiet) sorter can handle up to 6,000 parcels per hour, with shipments sorted into one of 46 directions. The overall layout of the sorter is presented in the diagram below. Lines 1-3 are dispatch lines, and line 4 (added in 2020) is for returns processing.
