The Mark V model is rightly considered one of the most beautiful convertibles of the 1940s and 1950s, ranking among the most exclusive vehicles of its era. It was produced only from 1948 to 1951 and in very limited numbers.

Only 971 of these fantastic cars were built, of which just 577 were left-hand drive – at most, 50-80 left-hand drive examples are still in reasonably preserved condition worldwide.

How many of these gems have ultimately survived to this day is uncertain; the vehicle is virtually unobtainable throughout Europe! Significant value appreciation is therefore guaranteed—there are only a handful left for sale in the USA as well.

The car was sold to the USA after production in 1950 and was only registered once in California. In the early 1990s, it was repatriated to Europe.

There, the vehicle was completely dismantled over many years of meticulous work, and fully restored piece by piece to a truly top-class condition. All necessary work was undertaken with no regard for cost to turn the car into a technical and visual highlight.

The Jaguar was completely stripped, with both bodywork and interior, as well as electrics, refurbished or replaced with original parts. During this process, a full repaint inside and out was completed, changing the color from lavender grey to black—also an original Jaguar shade, which suits the car even better. The seats were completely reupholstered with new red leather; the carpets were also replaced in full, and all the woodwork was restored.

In 2012/2013, the technical components underwent a further comprehensive overhaul; the drivetrain was fully rebuilt, and various wear parts were replaced. All work required for H-registration was carried out, and the registration was granted in 2013. Over €18,000 was spent during this period, with invoices available.

All attachments and trim are in outstanding condition; all functions operate flawlessly. The vehicle is absolutely rust-free and was extensively protected against corrosion during restoration. After the restoration, the car was kept in a climate-controlled hall and has covered just 290 miles in total since, only during exercise drives and for TÜV/MOT purposes.

All documentation and extensive photographic records of the restoration are, of course, included with the vehicle. A recent valuation report, the German vehicle registration documents (registration certificate part I & II), and a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust birth certificate are also supplied.
