BioVeris M-Serie

BV tests are designed for the detection of biological substances, including botulinum neurotoxins A, B, E, and F, staphylococcal enterotoxins A and B, ricin, and anthrax spores.

BV tests utilize a sandwich immunoassay format. An antibody specific to the pathogen to be detected is immobilized on microparticles.

The other antibody is labeled with the BV-TAGTM marker from BioVeris. The sample is mixed with these reagents.

If the specific pathogen to be detected is present in the sample, both antibodies bind to it, effectively linking the microparticles, the organism, and the BV-TAG marker together.

The reaction mixture is then transferred, along with an assay buffer, to a flow cell equipped with an electrode that stimulates the bound BV-TAG label to emit light.
