As a fully automatic system for the rapid identification of pathogens and resistances, the Vitek 2 system has become indispensable in medical laboratories around the world!

The system was purchased by the government in 11/2013 and was regularly inspected and serviced under a maintenance contract. The last inspection and maintenance were completed up to 08/2023. The device was removed fully functional from operation at the end of 2022 due to a new acquisition.

All components are in excellent optical and technical condition, with no significant damage—minor scratches and discolorations on the housing are consistent with normal use and do not impair functionality in any way.

Description:

The VITEK 2 system provides everything health laboratories require for fast and accurate microbial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing.

The system is used for the microbiological identification of animal-borne pathogens. It enables rapid and precise antibiotic susceptibility tests and detection of resistances. The automated system delivers same-day sensitivity testing (with results in just 5 hours, according to clinical study data). This significantly improves the workflow in veterinary medical laboratories and optimizes clinical veterinary microbiology.
The VITEK 2 system offers a comprehensive range of key susceptibility tests for veterinary diagnostics and stands out for its high performance and ability to detect even low-level resistance and new resistance mechanisms (AmpC, ESBL, MBL, etc.).
The software is updated annually to implement any taxonomy developments or changes in guidelines.
VITEK 2 disposable cards are sealed to avoid contamination during the loading of the bacterial suspension.
