The omnidirectional barcode scanners of the Mini-X product family are designed to read barcodes in any orientation. This capability is achieved by an optical arrangement of several intersecting scan lines integrated into a compact housing. Barcodes can be identified at distances from 500 to 1800 mm. A total of six configurations are available to meet different reading requirements.

With DRX defragmentation technology, even heavily damaged or poorly printed codes can be reliably reconstructed. The TachTrac function assigns the reading result to the correct object if multiple objects are in the reading window. The decoded reading result is transmitted via RS 232, RS 422, or RS 485 interfaces.

Application area:

The omnidirectional barcode scanner Mini-X for arbitrarily oriented barcodes is used for the identification of non-aligned objects or code labels in variant production, material flow control, or load acquisition. To increase the reading width, several scanners can be operated side by side.

Typical applications include order picking and returns handling for shipping small items (such as CDs, books, or videos) in mail order operations, as well as sorting in distribution centers. The scanner is also used for the identification of car rims or bodies in automotive production, as well as for parcels at parcel services.
