WATKISS SpineMaster

The Watkiss SpineMaster is a post-press finishing device designed to convert stapled booklets into SquareBack booklets featuring a flat, square spine. This technology gives stapled booklets a professional appearance similar to perfect binding, improves stackability, and reduces bulk. The device can be used in manual or automated systems (e.g. integrated with a stitching or printing system).

Conversion of stapled to SquareBack booklets: The SpineMaster transforms the spines of conventional stapled booklets into a rectangular form.
Professional appearance: This gives the booklets an appearance akin to perfect bound products, making them more attractive to print buyers.
Practical advantages: The flat, square spine makes stacking, storing, and transporting finished booklets easier. In addition, the spine can be printed on, adding further value.

Adaptability: Spine printing can be enhanced using a separate device for additional customization.
Production speeds: The SpineMaster achieves speeds of up to 1,750 units per hour.
Applications: The machine can be used for various applications, from manual feeding to fully automated online integration into a complete booklet making line. This unit was installed in conjunction with a Bourg booklet production line.
